The right temporal lobe is the main brain area that is stimulated with this exercise. It helps strengthen visual memory, spatial memory and visual concentration. Visual memory is a part of memory that maintains some aspects of the senses involved with visual experiences. We are able to place in memory the information that resembles objects, symbols, places, animals or people in sort of a mental image. This exercise requires speed, a good visual analysis of characters, and attention to detail.
